Best Free Mommy and Me Workouts on YouTube

If it’s free it’s for me… Or so the saying goes. When it comes to my workouts, this is very true. I do not vibe with the idea of people trying to make money off of my fitness. So when I began my fitness journey I stuck to youtube videos. I loved them and had success losing 30+ pounds without spending a dime. You can read How I lost nearly 40 pounds postpartum to learn how you can too!

Exercise is Play

As a momma, I particularly value the workout videos I can do with my kids by my side. We have so much fun together, and it feels great to know that I am promoting an active lifestyle to my kids. My kids do not think of exercise as a chore at all. To them exercise time is play time! My daughters will drag out the yoga mat and ask me if they can exercise. No, I’m not joking. We have a blast, and it’s a positive way to use screen time. Because these workouts are so fun and effective, I decided to compile a list to share with you so that you can get your sweat on with your kids too!

*As always, talk with your doctor before starting any kind of exercise program*

YouTube Fitness Channels

This list pulls videos from three of my favorite YouTube fitness channels.

  1. Grow with Jo is my current favorite channel. I find Jo to be so fun, and I feel I relate a lot to her. We had our first babies around the same time and both wanted to get healthier. Her videos have helped me lose weight after each of my pregnancies.

  2. PopSugar Fitness is the very first YouTube fitness channel I subscribed to. I owe the majority of my weight loss after having my firstborn to PopSugar Fitness. There are SO many different kinds of exercise videos from HIIT to Barre to Zumba to Pilates…. Just about any workout you can imagine! I love to have variety in my workout schedule so I can challenge my body in different ways without getting bored.

  3. Pregnancy and Postpartum TV admittedly does not have the greatest production quality. However, the workouts are quality workouts. I used this channel the most when I was pregnant with my second child and wanted workouts that were safe for each trimester.

7 Best Mommy and Me YouTube Workouts

Encanto Dance Party

Grow with Jo’s Encanto Dance Party Workout

This workout is an all around favorite. Every time I workout with my kids, this is the first one they want to do. Elaina is always very excited to exercise with “Mirabel". Dance to epic songs from the Encanto film, such as Surface Pressure and We Don’t Talk About Bruno. Your kids will have a blast watching “Bruno” as he sneaks around the background of the video. I may or may not do this one without my kids sometimes….

Disney Dance Party

Grow with Jo’s Disney Kids Dance Workout

This Disney workout features songs from The Lion King, Moana, and Toy Story. If your kids are super into these movies, this workout is for you! It truly helps to keep the kids engaged in the workout when they hear songs that they love. Kid engagement means that you get to work up a decent sweat without worrying what little Molly is doing in the next room. For me personally, I just can’t wait to be King has always been a banger.

Kid’s Dance Party

Grow with Jo’s Kid’s Dance Party Workout

Grow with Jo’s Kid’s Dance party starts off strong with Baby Shark. As babies, both of my kids were absolutely obsessed with Baby Shark. It’s a running joke that Baby Shark is some kind of crack for babies. Seriously, you put that song on and they go wild. You’d think I’d be more sick of it than I am, but when Baby Shark can solve almost any problem you kind of learn to love that little guy. The workout then moves on to songs that both kids and adults can enjoy such as Can’t Stop The Feeling, Dance Monkey, and HandClap. Use screen time for good and get dancing to this workout with your sweet littles!

Family Fun Cardio

Popsugar’s Family Fun Cardio

This PopSugar Workout is sure to get the whole family sweating! PopSugar is very good about including a warm-up in their videos. Warming up is vital to preventing injuries during exercise. Doing this video will help teach your kids to warm up before exercise. The workout then consists of 5 different challenges ranging from balance to sprawls.

Family Kickboxing

Popsugar’s Family Kickboxing Workout

This kickboxing workout is really fun with kid-friendly covers by Mini Pop Kids. Songs included are, Cheerleader, 24K Magic, 4 Minutes, and Happier. Punching the air to the beat of 24K Magic with your kiddos is a great way to let out some pent up energy. Maybe you can visualize punching out that lady who mom-shamed you at the grocery store…. idk. (Of course, we don’t endorse doing that in real life, but the visual can be therapeutic) Whatever gets you motivated, boo!

Fun Family Cardio

Popsugar’s Fun Family Cardio Workout

We love some cardio, baby. This is another video that focuses on emphasizing warm up and cool down. In the middle there are lots of fun cardio moves for you and your kids to have fun with. There are more Mini Pop Kids cover songs in this video. Included songs are I Love Me, Dynamite, Sunday Best, and, my daughter’s favorite, Ice Cream. You’ll be singing “Ice Cream” all day long with your little workout buddy. Then your buddy will probably be begging you for ice cream… So maybe this one is counter productive, or maybe there’s nothing wrong with a little ice cream. It’s all about balance after all!

Ballet Class for Kids

Princess Ballerina Ballet For Kids

I’d be remiss if I didn’t include this one. My daughter loves, and I mean LOVES, the kids ballet classes on Pregnancy and Postpartum TV. She thinks she is on stage performing when she does these videos. Also, this is way more affordable than enrolling your kiddos in ballet.

I hope you found one or two videos here that you are excited to try at home with your kids. Once you’ve figured out how to get a quality workout in while your kids are awake, your life will be changed! Sometimes you are still going to want to have your own, more adult workouts. However, on days where there is simply too much to do, using these workouts with your kids is one of the best ways to make sure you still get in that movement your body craves!
